The Tunnel
Watch Trailer

Zvi Luria is afraid. He is afraid of his brain, which was recently diagnosed as showing signs of early-stage dementia. He is afraid of his declining relevance. He is afraid that his wife and two kids will think that he is a doddering old fool who serves no purpose. He is afraid to enter a long, dark tunnel with no light at the end. All his life he relied on his brain. Now it is about to betray him.

Luria is afraid to forget. He’s afraid that he will forget his name, his identity, his children, and his long career as a top transportation engineer. But when the chance to design a secret tunnel in the desert comes his way, he discovers that this opportunity is far more important than he ever could have imagined. Soon he will realize that he spent his whole life subject to the caprices of a despotic mind, and now that it is starting to wither away, he has a chance to set off on a new path and experience the kind of openness he never knew before, even if it’s propelled by his own dementia. The experience may even expose Luria to an entirely new emotional and intellectual realm. A kind of new life at the end of life.
